Easter HAF Club

The Department for Education is funding sessions during the school holidays for children and young people who receive benefits-related free school meals and attend a North Somerset school.

Children can access 24 sessions in a year which are divided over the key holidays.

  • Easter: 4 sessions
  • Summer: 16 Sessions
  • Winter: 4 sessions

Each session is a minimum of four hours.

A meal is provided without any further charge to parents. These should be hot meals but in some circumstances could be a healthy packed lunch.

The sessions aim to develop lifelong skills, self-confidence and resilience. It makes sure that all children have access to activities, education and equal opportunities.

Your child must have a HAF allocated reference number to take part. You can get this by emailing us with your child's name, date of birth and what school they attend.

You can then use this reference number to book your chosen activity.

If you do not have your URN code, email HAF@n-somerset.gov.uk with your child’s name, which school they attend and date of birth to receive your code.

Don't forget to wear yellow tomorrow !!

10/10/23 World Mental Health Day

#HelloYellow

This #HelloYellow, stand out and show up for young people’s mental health

We can all struggle with how we’re feeling, but sometimes things get tough and it can be difficult to cope. For so many young people, when this happens, they don’t get the help they need, when they need it. But together, we can change this.

By wearing yellow this World Mental Health Day on 10 October, and donating what you can, you can show young people that you’re with them. Show them that they matter and deserve the support they need, when they need it, no matter what.

Join thousands across the country to stand out and show up for young people’s mental health this #HelloYellow. Are you in?
