A reminder as the weather is getting colder that all children need to have a coat in school. Year 6 children must also have a coat as their leavers hoodie are not coats. Thank you

Skipper

Skipper our school dog joined St Mark’s in March 2015. He has an important role within our school. Some of the jobs on his daily list include:

  • Playground duty before school each day so that he is there in the playground ready to greet the children.
  • Listen to phonics, reading and singing.
  • Walking on a lead with the children and an adult to support children’s social skills.
  • Being a motivational character for children to come and see if they have found aspects of work challenging but have demonstrated perseverance and motivation in their learning.
  • Going on learning walks around the school with Mrs Bath.
  • Going on school tours with new parents and new children.
  • Being on lunchtime duty in the playgrounds as a companion to children.
  • Sitting at the school gate each day seeing children and parents off our school premises.
  • Enjoying a lovely scratch and smooth from hundreds of children, staff and parents each day.
  • Keeping Mrs Bath company in the school office!
