During our work on shapes, we learnt about different types of triangles and investigated how many triangles could be made with different numbers of lolly sticks.
Jessica, “If we can make an equilateral triangle with 15 sticks, we can make one with 18 because it is in the 3 times table and an equilateral triangle needs equal sides.”
David, “I know this is an isosceles triangle because these 2 sides are the same length.”
Zach and Ruby, “We have made a square that has 2 right angled triangles inside. We know they are also isosceles because 2 of their sides are the same.”
Jake, “This one has to be scalene because all the sides are different.”
