I love our strong links with St Mark's school. It's a very special community with a precious Christian ethos and foundation that plays a key role in helping our children thrive and grow - we're privileged to be a part of it. As a church we value our links and have made the school relationship a strategic priority. I especially like our new school vision statement which quotes Jesus (from Matthew 5:16) and helps our children to be all they have been created to be...

Let your light shine!

The Rev Steve Bennett is a visitor from Weston and Burnham Methodist Circuit

Education is an important strand in the history of the Methodist Church and its current mission, and  I am delighted that being a minister in the Weston-Super-Mare and Burnham-on-Sea Methodist Circuit includes being a Governor of St Mark’s school.

As governors of the school we work alongside staff, and parents to develop and deliver education with a particular focus on Christian ethos whilst delivering high academic achievements, enabling all children to develop to their full potential.

Our new school vision statement ‘Let your light shine’ weaves its way through all the activities of the school. Children of all abilities are encouraged to be champions of justice and love within our community and in the wider world, giving them the best possible foundation for their lives.
