As a year group, we came together to enjoy an interesting and enjoyable talk by one of our grandparents about their childhood and growing up in Weston and Worle.
We now know…
“…that people used to have hole boxes built into their house for milk.”
“…that there used to be a farm behind TK Maxx.”
“…that one school was built in 1800.”
“…that Worle was bigger than Weston.”
We went for a walk to Castle Batch and up on top of the quarry to the observatory. We found out about local events and people. We found out that quite a lot of the land used to be underwater and that the only way to move cows was to take them by boat!
