On Friday 14th December 2012 The Friends of St Mark's School held our annual Christmas Fair.
The Fair was attended by a large number of pupils, their parents, grandparents, brothers, sisters and cousins as well as people from the wider community.
Attendees enjoyed Christmas arts and crafts, tombola’s, games such as; Santa’s drawers, guess the teddy’s birthday, splat the rat, guess the number of sweets in the jar and many, many more. We also had the usual book, toys and cake stalls. All topped off with a children’s and main raffle where hundreds of fantastic raffle prizes were kindly donated.
We were lucky enough that Father Christmas was able to spare a few hours to attend the fair. He is reported to have said “I am so pleased to see that so many well behaved children attend St Mark’s School, ho, ho, ho”.
The children were also able to have a go on the Freewheelers Blood Bike, a very worthy charity which the children chose to support during the winter term.
We are delighted to announce that over £2,000 was raised which will be put towards fantastic resources, experiences and equipment for all the children of St Mark's.
As always the Friends of School would like to thank all Teachers and Parents for their continued support and would like to wish everyone a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.
The next Friends of School event will be a Film Night (exclusively for children who attend St Mark’s) which will be held on Friday 25th January 2013.
