What a pleasure it has been for my family and I to join your community here at St Marks. We have been made to feel very welcome and are settling in to life in Worle.
We moved in June from Leigh in the Manchester Diocese where I served my curacy at Christ Church in Pennington. Before I felt called into ministry I worked for Manchester Council in Urban Regeneration. I was part of a team in East Manchester which worked with residents, developers, architects and housing associations to help turn around some very deprived neighborhoods.
It was great to take my first assembly on Wednesday 14th November. We talked about Genesis 28:10 and Jacob’s dream about the stairway to heaven, reminding ourselves that Jesus has provided a permanent bridge to heaven through his death on the cross. I also serve the school as a governor and have attended several meetings so far.
It is my intention that the links between St Mark’s church and school will grow and flourish. If you think the church can help with something, please get in touch. If you want to chat to me about God or spiritual matters, please call me.
I offer a warm and open invitation to join us at St Mark’s church, we would love to see you!
In the meantime, as a congregation we continue to pray for the school, it’s teachers, pupils and parents.
God bless you,
Revd Chris Elms
