Eco Council

St Mark's have achieved the Bronze award for the Eco School Green Flag Award.

Children from reception to year 6 are part of our eco-council, and they are passionate about making small changes which will have a big impact in saving our planet. Our eco-council have created an action plan and will run projects which will allow our school to make a positive difference.  They have so many wonderful ideas which they cannot wait to get started with! 

 

Why children are pleased to be in the eco-council:

   I’m very happy to be in the eco council because I want to make a change to the environment inside and surrounding our school -

   Finley age 11

· I’m happy to be in the eco council because I can help my school become environmentally friendly– Olivia age 10

· I am happy to be in the eco council because I enjoy doing litter picking on the beach at weekends – Ella age 10

· I’m happy to be on the eco council because I want to save all of the animals and save countries like Australia. I want to make the    world a  better place – Arthur age 6

· I am happy to be on the eco council because I believe everyone can do their very best to help our environment and save our 

  animals – Stanley  age 9

· I am pleased to be in the eco council because I believe the world deserves a second chance and I have lots of good ideas –

  Callie age 10

· I am pleased to be in the eco council because I want to stop litter going into the oceans so animal habitats do not get destroyed -

  William age 7

· I am happy to be in the eco council because I want to try and make a change to the litter going into the ocean so animals do not

  get stuck in any plastic – Izzy age 6

· I want to be in the eco council because I do not want the animals to die -Seb age 5

Children’s ideas for what they want to do to make a difference:

· Plant flowers which encourage butterflies to come to St Marks School

· I want to make healthy food to give our at school to help our school be healthy – Arthur

· Sell things to put money towards a charity – Finn

· Litter picking on the street - Stanley

· Not wasting clothes – recycling clothes. Flyers to go into charity shops. When someone bought clothes – thank you note from eco

  group at St marks.

· Boxes where people donate clothes to give to people not as fortunate as us – Ella

· Bringing in recycled things

· Reusing things to make them into new things – Seb

· Create plastic bottle greenhouses – Olivia

· Grow fruit and vegetables for school meals – Finn

· Make ingredients that are used in our school meals local – Finn
