Forest School
St Mark's Forest School Ethos
St Mark’s Forest School is a creative space where children explore the natural world, shaping their own learning and embracing their curiosities. They are encouraged to try new things, stepping outside their comfort zone and most importantly, getting muddy!
Forest School at St Mark’s Primary School
Children take part in Forest School throughout their time at St Mark's, in our on site Forest School, which has been developed by staff and pupils over recent years. The space has been designed to embrace our Forest School ethos and facilitate hands on, practical sessions, from firelighting and outdoor cooking, to shelter building, to learning to whittle. Each session seeks to build children's resilience and independence, aligning with the Forest School principles, whilst embracing our core Christian values of perseverance and friendship. Children thrive at St Mark's Forest School and as described by a pupil at the end of a session, 'this has been the best afternoon ever'.
